Equipment and Capacity of the Azarabadegan Khoy Cement Plant Production Lines

The crusher is responsible for the primary crushing of the minerals extracted from the mine and preparing them for entry into the production process.

The raw material storage hall is used for storing and homogenising raw materials and for the continuous supply of the materials required by the production process.

The stacker is responsible for the orderly stockpiling and distribution of crushed material in the storage hall and, by building up successive layers, helps to homogenise the raw materials.

The reclaimer is responsible for the continuous and uniform recovery of material from the stockpiles in the storage hall and its transfer to the raw mill section.

The raw mill is responsible for crushing and grinding the raw materials and turning them into raw meal of a fineness and particle size distribution suitable for entry into the burning system.

The raw meal silos are used for storing and homogenising the raw meal and for the uniform supply of material entering the burning system.

Using the hot exhaust gases from the kiln, the preheater preheats the raw meal and carries out part of the calcination process before the material enters the kiln.

The rotary kiln is the main part of the burning system, in which the raw meal is burnt at high temperature and converted into clinker through chemical and mineralogical reactions.

The grate cooler is responsible for the rapid cooling of the clinker leaving the kiln and the recovery of its heat. The recovered heat is reused in the burning process and helps to improve the thermal efficiency of the system.

The plant's clinker storage system consists of two 25,000-tonne silos and one 3,000-tonne silo (the reject silo).

In addition to storing clinker, the reject silo makes it possible to receive and discharge clinker outside the main production route and plays a part in managing rejected and surplus clinker.

The cement mills are responsible for grinding the clinker together with additives and producing the final cement with the required technical specifications and fineness.

The cement silos are used for storing the cement produced and for the continuous supply of the cement required by the loading and product dispatch section.

The packing and loading plant is responsible for loading and dispatching the cement produced, in bags and in bulk. This section has two loading lines with a nominal capacity of 120 tonnes per hour.

A major part of the plant's main electrical equipment and electrical systems, including motors, electric drives and switchboards, has been supplied from the products of ABB of Switzerland. This equipment is used in the various sections of the production lines and plays an important role in supplying power to, controlling and reliably operating the plant's equipment.
