These mines are located in mountainous terrain and, apart from the gypsum mines, are mostly situated within a 5 km radius of the plant, near the well-known Chelleh Khaneh mountain of Khoy. The highest elevation of the plant's mines is 1,800 metres and the lowest 1,030 metres above sea level.
The iron ore required by the plant is supplied from mines in the south of the province, and at the same time the plant's mining specialists are carrying out studies and exploration work on two iron ore exploration areas in the north of the province, with the aim of discovering iron ore and reducing the iron ore supply distance and transport costs.
