For this reason, our policies and actions are designed and implemented with a view to complying with environmental standards and reducing the negative impacts of industrial activities.

Practical Measures Taken by the Plant to Protect the Environment
Environmental Monitoring
- Installation of an online dust emission monitoring system (real-time online monitoring system) on the outlet of the plant's main stack, connected online to the control system of the national Department of Environment
- Implementation of the environmental self-declaration programme, covering gases, dust particles emitted from stacks, ambient suspended particles and treatment plant effluent, on a quarterly basis by an environmentally accredited laboratory
Air Pollution Control
- Control, installation and use of the world's latest dust collection technologies
- Control and reduction of dust emitted from stacks through the continuous maintenance and repair of production line equipment and machinery
Water and Wastewater
- Full recirculation of the water used in the production line process
- Commissioning of a sanitary wastewater treatment system using the activated sludge method with deep aeration
- Use of all treatment plant effluent for irrigating green spaces
Noise
- Supervision and inspection, and timely lubrication of machinery and equipment to reduce noise
Waste Management
- Preparation and implementation of the operational plan for the executive management of the plant's industrial and special waste in accordance with the Waste Management Act
Environmental Management Systems
- Implementation of the plant's comprehensive environmental management plan (EMS&EMP)
- Establishment, implementation and operation of the environmental management system standard (ISO 14001:2015)
Green Space
- Allocation of more than 20 percent of the plant's area to green space, with the planting of various fruit-bearing and non-fruit-bearing trees on the plant site
- Full implementation of the drip irrigation scheme for the plant's green space
Environmental Training and Awareness
- Establishment of the plant's environment office and the first Environment House among the cement plants of the north-west of the country
- Participation in international and regional exhibitions, seminars and conferences related to the environment
- Holding environmental training courses
- Installation of signs and environmental slogans and the observance of environmental occasions at the plant
