Cement Guide

Bulk, Bagged or Jumbo Bag Cement?

Cement is supplied in three main forms: bulk, bagged and jumbo bag. The choice depends on the quantity used, the facilities on site and how the cement will be stored.

01

Bulk cement

It is carried without bags in special trucks and unloaded into silos. It suits ready-mix concrete plants, precast producers and large projects with silos. It has no packaging cost and little waste.

02

Bagged cement

It is supplied in bags, usually of 50 kg. It is easy to handle and use on small sites and in ordinary building work.

03

Jumbo bag

Large bags of about one tonne or more, moved with a forklift or crane. They suit long-distance transport, export and projects with high consumption but no silo.

04

Storing bagged cement

In a covered, dry place, away from moisture and rain
On pallets or a platform, not directly on the ground
Away from damp walls
Use older bags first, because cement absorbs moisture and forms lumps when stored for a long time
